景の妹を襲ったと思われる男が捕まる
女性が何者かによって金槌で殴られ殺される事件が起こる。その女性の解剖を担当した景は、女性の首元を見て愕然とする。首元には20Pという文字が残されていたのだった。解剖の結果、頭部打撃による脳挫傷だと思われた。景の様子がおかしいことに気づいた千聖が尋ねると、妹の優も同じように3年間に襲われて意識が戻っていないことや、首に5Pという文字が残っていたのと告白する。
事件後に金槌を持って付近をうろついていた落合を連行したが、落合にはアリバイがあるのだった。金槌には血液反応も見られなかった。景は落合に会いたいと千聖に頼む。落合に優のことを話すと、「知らないよ、ツインテールの女子高生なんて。」と言われ、犯人だと確信する景。
日本法医学研究院を辞職した柚木は、自分が解剖結果をねつ造したことを、後悔する日々を送っていた。そんな柚木に会いに行く千聖。景のことを話し、法医研に戻るよう説得するのだった。
意識が戻らない優
落合の犯行を証明するために、死亡推定時刻を洗い直す景だったが、変わることはなかった。落合が犯行可能な時刻に書き換えようとする景。そこへ柚木が現れる。
落合の事情聴取は打ち切りにしたものの、高橋に尾行をするように指示する千聖。柚木と景は、優が襲われて以降の3年間に、似たような事件がないか調査する。同じように首元に10Pと書かれて殺された女性の事件を見つけ、落合の犯行だと確信する景。そんな中、景の父から電話があり、治る可能性が低いため、生命維持装置を外すかどうか、家族で話し合うように医師から言われたと告げられる。景は頑なに拒み、父に反発するのだった。
殺人ゲーム
千聖は、落合が以前勤めていたゲーム開発会社を訪ね、上司から話を聞く。人を殺すゲームのシナリオを提案した落合は、上司から認められずカッとなってそばにあったカッターで切り付けようとしたのだと言う。その際のシナリオを見せてもらうと、女性を殺すと難易度ごとにポイントが貰えるというゲームだった。女性たちの首元に残された数字は、この難易度によるポイントを示すものだと思われた。シナリオによると、次のターゲットは難易度4の女子大生。
女子大の門で、ティッシュを配りながら物色する落合を、千聖や高橋が見張っていた。門から出てきた女子大生を尾行する落合。その落合を尾行する高橋。千聖は先回りして連絡を取り合う。女子大生が自転車置き場まで来た時、落合が女性に襲い掛かり、金槌を手にしたところを、高橋が止めに入る。だが、先回りしていた千聖の前にも、ピエロのお面をかぶり、金槌を持った男が待ち構えていたのだった。
殺人ゲームの続き
落合を確保した高橋だったが、千聖にも別の男が金槌で襲い掛かってくる。高橋が駆けつけ、男は逃げ去った。落合には共犯者がいると考える高橋は、落合を問い詰めるが自供するどころか、景を呼ぶように言う。
これまでの被害者の写真を見ていた柚木は、頭頂部ではなく側頭部を狙っていることに違和感を覚える柚木。
落合と話しに行った景は、落合が高校の頃に落ちこぼれていたことや、ゲーム会社でも思うようにならなかった過去を話すと、落合は明らかに動揺して感情的になり、景に襲い掛かる。高橋が止めに入ったが、「ゲームはまだ終わってない。」と捨て台詞を残すのだった。
千聖の病室にいた柚木のところに、高橋と景がやってくる。落合が以前勤めていたゲーム会社に、野田という、落合の高校2年の時の同級生がいることが判明したと話す高橋。その男は千聖がゲーム会社を訪ねた時に見かけた男で、肩を痛めていると言っていたことを思い出す。それを聞いた柚木は、肩を痛めていて腕が上がらず、側頭部を殴打したのだと気づくのだった。そこに、落合のシナリオに続きがあったことが判明したと連絡が来る。ボーナスステージとして、「誰にも祝われない誕生日、海浜シェルズパークで幸せそうなカップル5組に復讐せよ」と書かれていたのだった。野田の誕生日は、今日だった。
その頃、海浜シェルズパークには、ピエロの恰好をして、ナイフを持った野田の姿があった。

ようやく景の妹を襲った犯人が分かったのに、捕まえることができないもどかしさでいっぱいになりました。
自分が不遇だったことを、なんの関係もない人を巻き込むことで満足しようとする意味が、全くわかりませんが、とにかく早く捕まえて欲しいです。そして、妹の優が、目覚めることを祈りたいです。
